One of the best things you can do to keep a newly planted tree healthy is by watering it, especially during its first year. When a new tree is planted, it is working hard to establish its root system and find its own sources of water, but it needs our help until that’s accomplished. A properly watered tree should get 1.5 inches of rainfall a week, or roughly 5 gallons of water, but that’s tough to track without a rain gauge!

So, for this year’s Shop for Good week, where the Amazon needs from local non-profits are highlighted by Share Charlotte and supported by Bank of America, TreesCharlotte would LOVE to get enough rain gauges to give to every TreeStore shopper this season, roughly 1,000 households.

A pack of 10 is $20.99. If you’re looking for other items on our shopping list, we also would be grateful for work gloves, hand warmers, ponchos and one laminator. It’s all on our Amazon Wishlist.

Thank you for helping Charlotte keep its beautiful canopy healthy!
