On March 3, more than 60 Duke Energy employees will help plant 120 trees at Winterfield Park, which is about seven miles from downtown Charlotte and across from Winterfield Elementary School. The project is part of Duke Energy’s Care4Environment program, which offers volunteer projects for employees and retirees that help protect and improve the environment in communities the company serves.
“We’re excited to support TreesCharlotte and the NeighborWoods initiative through employee sweat equity along with a grant from the Duke Energy Foundation,” said Hilary Davidson, sustainability director at Duke Energy. “Charlotte’s tree canopy defines our city. It’s important that we all invest in, maintain and protect this natural resource.” Check out the event page for more details.
TreesCharlotte is grateful for corporate sponsors, who play a crucial part in helping us achieve our mission of 50% tree canopy by 2050!
