What is a TreeMaster?
A TreeMaster is a volunteer who has received training on volunteer management, proper planting techniques and care and maintenance of trees. TreeMasters serve as volunteer leaders and are vital to the success of NeighborWoods planting events throughout Charlotte.
What do TreeMasters do?
TreeMasters attend this free 2 1/2 hour workshop which features indoor and outdoor instruction, presentations, and hands-on demonstrations. Training is suited for all levels of arboriculture knowledge. Upon completion of the certification course, graduates will be provided opportunities to put their knowledge into action by serving as volunteer leaders at planting events. The TreesCharlotte planting season runs from October to roughly April 15.
Benefits of becoming a TreeMaster.
TreeMasters receive a tree of their choice at each event at which they volunteer and an orange TreesCharlotte baseball cap.
What is the time commitment?
TreeMasters are asked to commit to volunteer at a minimum of 3 regularly scheduled tree planting events annually (each about 6 hours).

You must be at least 18 years of age and register by completing the application found here.
