Dilworth Community Association TreeAdoption with TreesCharlotte!
We’re excited to offer the Dilworth Community Association the chance to adopt trees on Saturday, January 25 at Latta Park. Here’s your chance to make a lasting impact on Charlotte’s tree canopy!
Here’s what you need to know:
Registration details
- Registration is required and opens at 10am on Wednesday, January 8. A link to register will be emailed to Dilworth residents.
- Deadline to register is midnight on Thursday, January 16.
- Each registration requires a unique name, address and email address. Registrants using the same contact details for multiple registrations will be notified and canceled.
- Each registration is limited to 3 trees. While the registration form does not limit the total number of trees, registrations requesting more than 3 trees will be canceled.
Event details
- Pick up trees at 9am on Saturday January 25. Location details will be shared in your confirmation email.
- All attendees are required to go through a planting demonstration at the adoption to ensure the health and longevity of our trees. This is a requirement for all participants, even if you have adopted trees or planted with us previously.
- Upon arrival, plan for at least 45 minutes to receive your trees.
- Trees come in containers ranging up to 7-gallons in size, measure up to 10′ tall, and can weigh up to 20 pounds.
- Before arriving, please clear space in your vehicle to accommodate the trees and mulch. Volunteers will be on hand to assist in loading your trees.
- Soil from the container may spill out while the trees are being loaded in your vehicle. We recommend bringing trash bags or tarp.
- You will receive a pre-event email shortly before the adoption with a full list of day-of logistics, including where to park and event flow.
- You will receive an email after the event with planting and care instructions. Learn more here!
