Randolph Middle School TreeDay

February 20 2021

While TreesCharlotte strives to celebrate, expand, and protect the tree canopy in Charlotte, we also want to protect the health of our supporters, volunteers, and partners from risks associated with COVID-19.  We appreciate your continued interest in volunteering with us even in these difficult times. Please read through our new event protocols here before registering to volunteer.

TreesCharlotte is excited to plant approximately 100 trees around the Randolph Middle School campus.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable event, we are limiting the number of volunteers to 50 for this TreeDay.  Register early as our events “sell out” quickly.   50 spots remain.

Tree planting events are great for families and all ages are welcome. To ensure we operate within State and CDC guidelines, we are limiting participation to 50 volunteers and are requiring a registration form for each volunteer, adults and children alike. We cannot accept walk-up volunteers at the event. Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Volunteer groups of 10 or more, please contact events director, Heike Biller to determine if there is enough capacity.

Events are held rain or shine. Details of the event will be emailed to registered volunteers the week of the event.

Deadline to register is Sunday, February 14.

Randolph Middle Registration

  • A valid email address is required in order to communicate with you important details of the event.
  • Additional Volunteers

Each volunteer is required to register separately. We can only accommodate volunteers that have registered in advance and will not allow day of registration. This will ensure we do not go above state mandated limits for outdoor gatherings.
  • If you are volunteering as part of a company, organization, or school, please select from the list below. If your group does not appear, please list the name of your group in the "Other" field below.
  • If your group is not listed in the dropdown above, add it here. Each volunteer must register individually by completing their own form. Do not list additional volunteers.
  • COVID-19 Event Protocol

    1. Stay home if you are sick. Individuals who arrive on-site with symptoms will be sent home. All volunteers will be asked on the day of the event if they have experienced any COVID symptoms, including a recent fever, or if they have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID in the last two weeks.
    2. All tools, such as shovels and rakes, will be disinfected before being handled by volunteers and tools will be used by the same person for the duration of the planting event.
    3. All volunteers, TreeMasters, staff, and participants must wear a mask covering their mouth and nose throughout the event (masks will be provided to any person who does not have one). Volunteers not in compliance with the mask requirement will be asked to leave the event.
    4. A distance of 6 feet must be maintained between participants at all times.
    5. All volunteers must wear freshly laundered garden gloves (gloves will be provided for those without them).
    6. Hand sanitizer or a hand-washing station will be available for volunteer use at the event site.
    7. Only designated staff/TreeMasters will be in charge disinfecting tools before storing them.
    8. All volunteer events will have a limit of 25 participants per planting zone per CDC guidelines for outdoor events.
    9. All volunteers will be required to register prior to the event. To ensure we comply with CDC guidelines for outdoor events, we will no longer accept day-of registrants.
