For volunteer opportunities, please check out events marked with a blue ribbon! Don’t see any available dates? Our events open on a rolling basis, so check back at the beginning of each month!
Having completed a NeighborWoods Application and been accepted into the program, TreesCharlotte is pleased to be partnering with the Nevin Glen neighborhood to plant trees in their common areas and distribute free trees to residents of the neighborhood. We thank Wells Fargo for their generous support of our NeighborWoods events.
Pre-registration for trees is required by clicking here. You must be a resident of Nevin Glen. Deadline to register is Sunday, Oct. 20.
The location of the event is yet to be determined and will be updated once it has been confirmed. The tree give away portion of the day will run from 10:00-11:00.
Residents of Nevin Glen are invited to come out, learn about trees and take up to 2 home to plant. At the event, you will be trained on how to properly plant and care for your tree(s). Tree training is mandatory. You will then be asked to complete and sign a Stewardship Pledge Form and declare your pledge to take care of the tree(s) we provide.
We cannot guarantee species type or quantities. Trees are 6-10′ tall, and will not be reserved or transported. This is a first come, first served event.
Events are held rain or shine. A modest rainfall actually provides ideal planting conditions.
A few volunteers and TreeMasters are needed to help plant trees and to help with tree and mulch distribution. The tree planting portion of this event will be from 10:30-noon.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable event, we are limiting the number of volunteers to 20 for this TreeDay. Register early as our events “sell out” quickly. 11 spots remain
Tree planting events are great for families and everyone is welcome. To ensure accurate active volunteer counts, please list all participants on the registration form, along with children’s ages. Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Deadline to register to volunteer is October 20. Click here to volunteer.
Once registered, more detailed information will be emailed to you the week of the event.
