Made in the Shade: Free Tree Giveaway!

Did you miss the Arbor Week Kick-off City-wide TreeStore this past Saturday? No problem. We have a few trees left, so we’ve decided to hold a “Made in the Shade” TreeStore this Thursday, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. All of our available trees promise to provide beautiful, cool shade as they mature! Here’s what we have on our lot here at TreesCharlotte headquarters:
Winged Elm – 1 qty
Shumard Oak – 20 qty
Chestnut Oak – 2 qty
American Beech – 6 qty
Black Gum – 1 qty
Bosque Elm – 1 qty
Brandywine Red Maple – 20 qty
Everclear Elm – 5 qty
Leyland Cypress – 1 qty
Loblolly Pine – 17 qty
Long Leaf Pine – 33 qty
Swamp White Oak – 15 qty
Sweetbay Magnolia – 5 qty
Water Oak – 8 qty
Yellowwood – 1 qty
Each Charlotte household is eligible for up to two free trees. Proof of Charlotte residency (such as a driver’s license, utility bill, etc.) as well as a valid email address must be provided in order to participate. No pre-registration is required. One of the missions of TreesCharlotte is to help the City of Charlotte and City Council reach their goal of 50% tree canopy by 2050. We therefore limit our efforts to expand the canopy within city limits and limit participation to Charlotte residents.
At the TreeStore, you will be trained on how to properly plant and care for your tree(s). Tree training is mandatory. You will then be asked to complete and sign a Stewardship Pledge Form with your home and email address (mandatory) and declare your pledge to take care of the tree(s) we provide.
Trees are 6-10′ tall in 7-gallon containers, and will not be reserved or transported.
