TREASURE TREES

#087 Laurel Oak (Quercus laurifolia)

This tree has some “scars” from hurricanes and ice storms but still stands today. The flared shape at the base and the burls on the trunk indicate an ongoing battle with internal decay. While this tree has features of a Laurel Oak and Diamond Leaf Oak, arborists have concluded it’s a Laurel Oak.
