#142 American Beech (Fagus grandifolia)

This huge beech stands next to a shed in the backyard of a home. The owner believes this tree and a huge holly were planted as "wedding trees" in front of an old farmhouse that used to sit on this land. This is the largest known beech at this time in the county.
