TREASURE TREES
#003 Sassafras (Sassafras albidum)
According to the Historic Rosedale website, this original tree is now gone but an original sapling stands under the White Ash Treasure Tree (#004). The original Sassafras tree was struck by lightning sometime after the 1980s, but this devastation did not affect the growth of the sapling.
The original Treasure Tree health memo noted that the roots and soil were also compacted upon the renovation of the property.
