This massive Willow Oak was added to the program in 1992. At the time of nomination by former owner Lynn Lau, the tree was beloved by the entire family. Dr. Bill Logan, a former Treasure Tree Committee Chairman, used to live on the street behind this house. With a current circumference of just over 20 feet, this is easily one of the largest of its species in the county. The Willow Oak is one of the most popular trees around Charlotte. It’s a large member of the Oak family with willow-like leaves. Foliage is bright to deep green in the summer and yellow/yellow-brown in the fall.
