Grier Heights/Elizabeth Heights Resident Tree Sign-up

Residents of Grier Heights and Elizabeth Heights are invited to join us at the Grier Heights Community Center to talk to tree experts about the right trees for your yard, take a 15-minute tree-planting clinic and bring home up to 3 free trees and mulch!

Date: Saturday, Oct. 12

Time: 9-10:00 a.m.

Location: Grier Heights Community Center, 3100 Leroy Street, Charlotte 28205

The trees: Tentative species list is yet to be determined. Once confirmed, a list of species will be emailed to registrants.  (Trees are a first-come, first-served basis.)

Tree specs: 6-10 feet tall, 1-inch caliper, aged 2-4 years old, potted in 7-gallon containers. Trees would retail for $75-$150.

Your cost: FREE

Tree clinic: Every recipient must attend a tree-planting clinic the morning of the event (15 minutes) and sign a stewardship pledge.

Registration: Closes Oct. 4. Registration is required. If you register, you are expected to pick up trees the morning of Oct. 12 or arrange for somebody to pick them up for you. Registration does not guarantee species; all trees are first-come, first-served.

Grier Hgts/Elizabeth Hgts Resident Tree Sign-up Form

Neighborhoods complete a grant application to host a NeighborWoods event in their community; therefore, participation at the NeighborWoods event is limited to residents of that neighborhood. TreesCharlotte hosts City-Wide TreeStores where any resident of Charlotte is invited to participate. Visit our events calendar to learn more about our City-wide TreeStores.

  • A valid email address is required in order to communicate important event details with you.
  • Please enter the number of trees you would like to plant in your yard. (up to 3 max. per address)
    Please enter a value between 0 and 3.
  • Are you willing to volunteer and help your neighbors that are unable to plant their trees?
  • If you are physically unable to plant your trees, there will be a limited number of volunteers available to help. Training on how to properly plant your trees will be provided during the event.

  • As a volunteer for, or participant in, any of the activities of TreesCharlotte, I understand that I am free to refuse to participate in or continue activities in any setting where I feel my personal safety is at risk, and that I should alert the staff of TreesCharlotte to any hazardous situations. Furthermore, I hereby release and forever hold harmless TreesCharlotte, it’s officers, directors, representatives, agents, and staff from any and all actions, cause of action, claims, demands and liabilities arising out of, or related in any way, to my participation in the activities of TreesCharlotte at any time henceforth. By signing this form I also permit TreesCharlotte to use a photo of myself for their business purposes (website, printed collateral, etc.).
