SUMMARY:Glorious Autumn Regional TreeStore - Ballantyne
DESCRIPTION:Are you a resident of Charlotte?  Do you need some trees for your yard? TreesCharlotte\, with generous support from Alliance for Community Trees\, Arbor Day Foundation and CSX Transportation\, is bringing its Regional TreeStore to Ballantyne. \n\nEach Charlotte household is eligible for up to two free trees.\nTreesCharlotte’s mission is to help the City of Charlotte reach their goal of 50% tree canopy by 2050.  We therefore limit our efforts to expand the canopy within Charlotte’s city limits and limit participation to Charlotte residents only (unfortunately\, we do not serve Matthews\, Mint Hill\, Pineville\, Huntersville\, Davidson\, Cornelius\, other municipalities outside Charlotte\, or Mecklenburg County).\nProof of Charlotte residency (such as a driver’s license\, utility bill\, etc.) must be shown at the event in order to participate.\nA valid email address is required to register.\nYou will complete and sign a Stewardship Pledge Form (mandatory) and declare your pledge to take care of the tree(s) we provide.\nAt the TreeStore\, you will be trained on how to properly plant and care for your tree(s).  Tree training is mandatory.\nWe cannot guarantee species type or quantities and will not know what will be available until the morning of the event.\nTrees are in 7-gallon containers\, range from 6-10′ tall\, and will not be reserved or transported.\n\nTreesCharlotte is a non-profit organization that relies on donations to be able to host events like this.  A suggested donation of $10 per tree is greatly appreciated and would help us give more trees to Charlotte residents. \nGet through the line quicker by pre-registering in advance!  (Note: Pre-registering does not guarantee you trees or tree varieties; it simply allows you to bypass the paperwork line and get through the process faster) \nTree registration will open on October 15.  Pre-registration is limited to the first 250 participants.  Deadline to register is October 30\nClick Here to Register for Trees \nTrees are available on a first come first served basis and are limited in quantity.  We plan to have\, although not guaranteed to be available\, the following species to choose from: \n\n\n\nAutumn Gold Gingko\n\n\nBald Cypress\n\n\nBlack Gum\n\n\nChestnut Oak\n\n\nEmperor Japanese Maple\n\n\nGreen Giant Arborvitate\n\n\nOctober Glory Red Maple\n\n\nScarlet Fire Dogwood\n\n\nSun Valley Red Maple\n\n\nTulip Poplar\n\n\nWhite Oak\n\n\nYellow Wood\n\n\n\nVolunteers (limited to 15) and TreeMasters are needed to help move and distribute trees and mulch to participants. \nTreeMasters\, please register here to ensure your hours get logged.

SUMMARY:Park South Station Tree Planting Event
DESCRIPTION:Having completed a NeighborWoods Application and been accepted into the program\, TreesCharlotte is pleased to be partnering with the Park South Station neighborhood to plant approximately 400 trees in common areas around their neighborhood. \nTo ensure a safe and enjoyable event\, we are limiting the number of volunteers to 200 for this TreeDay. Register early as our events “sell out” quickly.  5 spots remaining. \nTree planting events are great for families and everyone is welcome. To ensure accurate active volunteer counts\, please list all participants on the registration form\, along with children’s ages. Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. \nEvents are held rain or shine.  A modest rainfall actually provides ideal planting conditions. \nDeadline to register is Sunday\, November 11. \nOnce registered\, more detailed information will be emailed to you the week of the event.
