SUMMARY:Barringer Academic Center TreeDay Event
DESCRIPTION:Thanks to the generous support of Duke Energer and Piedmont Natural Gas\, TreesCharlotte will be planting approximately 275 trees on the campus of Barringer Academic Center. \nTo ensure a safe and enjoyable event\, we are limiting the number of volunteers to 125 for this TreeDay. Register early as our events “sell out” quickly. Only 20 spots remaining. \nTree planting events are great for families and everyone is welcome. To ensure accurate active volunteer counts\, please list all participants on the registration form\, along with children’s ages. Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. \nChildren activities will be provided between 9:00 and 10:00am by our community partner\, NC Wildlife Federation. \nTreesCharlotte is exited to partner with CupLux Coffee to provide our volunteers with delicious\, hand crafted coffee at our events. \nEvents are held rain or shine.  A modest rainfall actually provides ideal planting conditions. \nDeadline to register is Sunday\, November 26. \nOnce registered\, more detailed information will be emailed to you the week of the event.

SUMMARY:City-Wide Large Maturing TreeStore – Fall 2017
DESCRIPTION:No matter the weather\, rain or snow\, the TreeStore will be open! \nAre you a resident of Charlotte?  Do you need some trees for your yard?  TreesCharlotte is hosting a free TreeStore.  Each Charlotte household is eligible for up to two free trees.  Proof of Charlotte residency (such as a driver’s license\, utility bill\, etc.) as well as a valid email address must be provided in order to participate.  One of the missions of TreesCharlotte is to help the City of Charlotte and City Council reach their goal of 50% tree canopy by 2050.  We therefore limit our efforts to expand the canopy within city limits and limit participation to Charlotte residents. \nAt the TreeStore\, you will be trained on how to properly plant and care for your tree(s).  Tree training is mandatory.  You will then be asked to complete and sign a Stewardship Pledge Form with your home and email address (mandatory) and declare your pledge to take care of the tree(s) we provide. \nThis TreeStore will feature only large maturing trees.  We cannot guarantee species type or quantities.  Trees are 6-10′ tall\, and will not be reserved or transported. \nThis is a first come\, first served event as quantities are limited. \nVolunteers and TreeMasters are needed to help move and distribute trees and mulch to participants.   \n  \nWe’d like to extend a special “Thank You” to SouthWood Corporation for being our event sponsor.
