DESCRIPTION:Having completed a CommunityWoods Application TreesCharlotte is pleased to partner with the Campe Green and Historic Fourth Ward neighborhoods to provide trees to their residents. \nWe will conduct a TreeAdoption at our headquarters on Saturday\, December 10\, for residents to pick up and plant trees in their own yards! What a great way to add more shade and beauty to your neighborhood. \nResidents\, here’s what you need to know: \n\nEach household can get up to 3 trees\, with a limit of 2 of the same species per household.\nYou must pre-register for the trees. Registration opens at 10:00 am\, Monday\, Nov. 28 (the link to register will be shared by your HOA) and closes at 11:59 pm\, Monday\, December 5.\nEach tree comes with a bag of mulch.\nYou will need to pick up your trees at Charlotte Land Management\, on Sat\, Dec. 10\, between 9-11:00 a.m. If you cannot make this window\, please make arrangements with a neighbor to get your trees. \nAt the TreeAdoption\, you will be taught how to properly plant and care for your tree(s).  Tree training is mandatory.\nAbout the trees: The trees are in 7-gallon containers\, measure 6-15 feet tall\, and weigh about 20-25 pounds. The mulch weighs 25 pounds/bag.  Links will be provided below to learn more about each species; please do your homework first to ensure you’re putting the right tree in the right place.  Once registered\, your selections are final.\nTreesCharlotte will send a follow-up email with planting instructions – including a planting video – watering instructions and specific information about the species you select. Tree planting is not provided.\n\nThe trees below will be available. This event is for Charlotte residents who’ve never participated in our TreeAdoptions before! If you’re a TreesCharlotte first-timer\, you can take home up to two FREE trees! DESCRIPTION:Sustain Charlotte is hosting an exclusive sneak peek at Phase 1 of the Long Creek Greenway! On Saturday\, Nov. 19\, explore the recently completed section of this north Charlotte trail as part of our Growing our Greenways series with Partners for Parks\, Carolina Thread Trail\, Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation\, and lastly us!  \nThe new section stretches from Interstate 77 to Treyburn Drive. Phase 2 is expected to be completed in 2023\, and Phase 3 is slated to start construction late this year. When finished\, the greenway will span roughly 4.5 miles and run from I-77 to Oakdale Road.  \nWe are looking for 1-2 TreeAmabassadors to assist Kate Bolkin and help table at the event.  \nFurther details will be provided the week of the event. DESCRIPTION:We will be hosting our online TreeMaster course on the evening of Wednesday\, September 14th. Anyone is welcome to join in if they are interested in becoming one of our amazing lead volunteers! (REGISTER HERE) \n \nWhat is a TreeMaster? \nA TreeMaster is a volunteer who has received training on volunteer management\, proper planting techniques and care and maintenance of trees.  TreeMasters serve as volunteer leaders at our planting events and TreeAdoptions throughout Charlotte.  They help with event setup\, tree and mulch placement\, volunteer engagement\, and event breakdown. \n  \nHow do I become a TreeMaster  \nAnybody interested must attend this free online workshop\, featuring the history of TreesCharlotte\, our planting practices\, and a Q&A.  Training is suited for all levels of arboriculture knowledge.  Upon completion of the certification course\, graduates will be provided opportunities to put their knowledge into action by serving as volunteer leaders. The tree planting season in Charlotte runs from October to early April. Outreach events are year-round. Once you register\, you will be sent the link to the online training a week prior to the event.  \nTraining Planting \nFollowing the training graduates will be provided with an opportunity to get hands-on experience with a tree planting on the morning of September 17th. This add-on training session is not required but strongly encouraged. A link to register for the planting will be provided to those who attend the online training.  \nWhat is the time commitment? \nTreeMasters are asked to commit to volunteer at a minimum of 3 regularly scheduled tree planting events annually (each about 5 hours).TreeAmbassadors are asked to volunteer at a minimum of 3 outreach events annually (each about 3 hours).

DESCRIPTION:TreesCharlotte is excited to host a  Zip Code TreeAdoption for East Charlotte. We invite residents living in zip codes 28205\, 28206\, 28212\, 28213\, 28215\, and 28227 to come on out and get some trees at TreesCharlotte’s HQ.  \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \nTo ensure the event runs smoothly please read the details below carefully: \nHere’s what you need to know:  \n\nRegistration is required and opens at 10 am Monday\, November 14th (link will be posted above on Nov 14) and closes when we “sell-out” of trees or at 11:59 pm Thursday\, November 17th. \nEach address within zip codes 28205\, 28206\, 28212\, 28213\, 28215\, and 28227 can get up to 2 trees. While the registration form does not limit the total number of trees\, households requesting more than 2 trees will be notified and removed.\nA valid email address is required to register.\nPlease allow for at least 45 minutes to receive your trees as everyone is required to go through a planting demonstration. \nWe are continuing to implement staggered pickup times. On the registration form\, you will choose a time frame to pick up your trees. \nAt the TreeAdoption\, you will be taught how to plant and care for your tree(s) properly.  Tree training is mandatory.\nAbout the trees: The trees are in 7-gallon containers\, measure 6-10 feet tall\, and weigh about 10-15 pounds. The mulch weighs 25 pounds/bag. Links to the species we are offering are provided below.  Please do your homework first to ensure you’re putting the right tree in the right place. Once registered\, selections are final and cannot be changed.\nTreesCharlotte will send a follow-up email with planting instructions – including a planting video – watering instructions and specific information about the species you select.\n\nTreesCharlotte is a non-profit organization that relies on donations to be able to host events like this. Donations are greatly appreciated and help us give more trees to Charlotte residents. If interested please click HERE.  \nThe trees below will be available. All species are subject to change. Quantities are limited. Register early to ensure the best selection. \nSelections are final and once registered\, cannot be changed.  Be sure to research which tree will work best for your yard before registering. \nIf you are a TreeMaster and would like to volunteer for this event please follow this LINK to register!
