SUMMARY:Croft Community School TreeDay event
DESCRIPTION:TreesCharlotte is partnering with Carolinas Healthcare System to plant approximately 691 trees on the campus of Croft Community School. \nIn addition to volunteers from CHS\, we are inviting volunteers from the general public to help out. To ensure a safe and enjoyable event\, we are limiting the number of volunteers to 150 for this TreeDay. Register early\, as our events “sell out” quickly. \nTree planting events are great for families and everyone is welcome.  To ensure accurate active volunteer counts\, please list all participants on the registration form\, along with children’s ages and t-shirt sizes. Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.  \nTree planting events are held rain or shine.  A modest rainfall actually provides ideal planting conditions. \nRegistration for this event has closed; however\, we could still use a few more volunteers.  Come to the front of the school and check-in at the “Day Of Registration” line.  We’d love to have you. \nDeadline to register is October 17.   Click here to register. \n

SUMMARY:6th Annual Creek ReLeaf Tree Planting
DESCRIPTION:This year Creek ReLeaf will be on November 23rd from 9 to noon in Charlotte\, along Irwin Creek at Whitehurst Road. We will plant 1\,800 trees to create a natural forest habitat that will help protect the creek from damaging storm water runoff. Lunch will be provided following the planting and we will also raffle off some great prizes. \nTo plant 1\,800 trees we will need at least 400 volunteers. Please register at www.creekreleaf.com if you are able to participate. Please also encourage your friends and colleagues to register as well. Families and kids are welcome. \nWe hope you realize how important your support is to our tree planting effort. Last year 500 of you came out and planted 1\,800 trees\, bringing the total number of Creek ReLeaf trees planted to over 12\,000. Without your support this would not be possible. \nCreek ReLeaf is a collaborative effort of the Charlotte Public Tree Fund\, Sierra Club\, Central Piedmont Community College and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Stormwater Services. Funding this year is provided by the 704 Group and the City of Charlotte.
