SUMMARY:Historic Hoskins TreeMapping - Phase V (Open to Volunteers)
DESCRIPTION:TreesCharlotte will be conducting a tree inventory mapping of street-view trees in the Historic Hoskins area. Volunteers will be split into zones and will be given measuring tapes\, tree manuals\, and training on how to properly map trees.  Volunteers will identify the following: \nNumber of trees (note heritage trees) \nTrunk diameter measurement of each accessible tree \nIdentify tree species and the number of each tree species \nDownlowad the App PictureThis . This app allows you to identify trees with a picture. \n  \n \nAge Requirements: Children of all ages are welcome. Adults (18+) must register themselves using the link above. Children ages 16 and under must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian at all times\, and a waiver for children 16 and under must be signed on-site at check-in. Children ages 17 and older may attend without a parent or guardian and should register themselves using the link above.

SUMMARY:Beneath the Bark: Twlight Nature Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an enlightening tree walk led by our own TreesCharlotte arborist! \n \nAbout \nThis immersive experience will take you through a diverse collection of trees\, where you’ll learn about their unique characteristics\, ecological importance\, and the vital role they play in our environment. Our knowledgeable arborist will guide you through proper tree identification\, teach you how to spot signs of tree health or distress\, and share valuable insights on sustainable tree care. Whether you’re an aspiring tree enthusiast or a seasoned nature lover\, this walk offers an opportunity to deepen your connection with the natural world while gaining a fresh perspective on the trees that surround us every day. Expect to discover fascinating facts\, ask questions\, and leave with a new appreciation for these towering giants!  \nThe event is from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm \nTree Walk will begin at The Trailhead Store at Daniel Stowe Conservancy. We encourage you to plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow time to find parking as the event will start promptly at 7:00 pm.  We will have a table to check in. \nComfortable attire and walking shoes are a must. A hat and sunscreen are recommended. Please plan to expect a brisk walk through the trail!  \n\nTrail Surfaces: crushed concrete (gravel) and natural surface (dirt with roots present). Strollers are not recommended on this walk. \n\n*A minimum of 8 people are required for the event to occur. Registered attendees will receive at least 24 hours’ notice if the event must be canceled due to low attendance.
