SUMMARY:Stewardship at Park Road Montessori
DESCRIPTION:For this Workday Wednesday\, TreesCharlotte is returning to the campus of Park Road Montessori to do routine maintenance on the trees planted in the Spring\, 2018.  TreesCharlotte periodically returns to school campuses to ensure that the trees we previously planted continue to thrive.  Stewardship events are vital to our mission of expanding Charlotte’s tree canopy. \nWe love our volunteers\, however\, general volunteers are not needed for this event.  Please check the events calendar for other opportunities highlighted in blue.  We have enough TreeMaster help for this one.

SUMMARY:TreeMaster Refresher TreeDay
DESCRIPTION:Thanks to our official TreeMaster sponsor\, \nthe Charlotte office of \n \nTreeMasters: Are. You. Reeeaaaddddyyy??!!! \nThe TreesCharlotte team is pumped to get our 8th planting season underway\, and we have a packed calendar. We have some new moves\, and one of them is just for you: A planting solely for TreeMasters to kick off the season. The team here thought it would be both fun and instructive to gather before the season to share some updates from the summer\, talk about the upcoming season (and how your leadership will be needed more than ever) and get some refresher planting and mulching training from Frank and Erin. \nAfter we all reconnect (with doughnuts and coffee\, of course)\, we’ll plant about 50 trees together – just the TC team\, experts from Bartlett and you\, the TreeMasters! \nThe fun begins at 9 am\, at Berryhill Elementary in west Charlotte\, a sweet little school tucked in the woods beside Lake Wylie. To make this event even more notable\, this planting will mark our 50th school. Wow!!! \nWe hope you are as excited and ready to don those orange hats as we are. If you can make it\, sign up below. If not\, we’ll catch you at an upcoming event!

Outreach events are year-round. \nWhat is the time commitment? \nTreeMasters are asked to commit to volunteer at a minimum of 3 regularly scheduled tree planting events annually (each about 5 hours).TreeAmbassadors are asked to volunteer at a minimum of 3 outreach events annually (each about 3 hours). \nHow do I sign up? \nYou must be at least 18 years of age and register by completing the application below.

SUMMARY:The Go Big TreeStore
DESCRIPTION:When it comes to building canopy\, the bigger the better. Which is why we’re ending our season in a BIG way: A final everything-must-go\, clearance blowout of Oaks\, Chinese Chestnuts\, Beeches and Elms on Tuesday\, March 19\, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at TreesCharlotte Headquarters. \nThese canopy champions are some of TreesCharlotte’s favorites. And they’re free! \nThe fine print: \n\n Three trees per address.\nTreesCharlotte’s mission is to help the City of Charlotte reach their goal of 50% tree canopy by 2050.  We therefore limit our efforts to expand the canopy within Charlotte’s city limits and limit participation to Charlotte residents only (unfortunately\, we do not serve Matthews\, Mint Hill\, Pineville\, Huntersville\, Davidson\, Cornelius\, other municipalities outside Charlotte\, or Mecklenburg County).\nProof of Charlotte residency (such as a driver’s license\, utility bill\, etc.) must be shown at the event in order to participate.\nYou will complete and sign a Stewardship Pledge Form (mandatory) and declare your pledge to take care of the tree(s) we provide.\nAt the TreeStore\, you will be taught how to properly plant and care for your tree(s).  Tree education is mandatory for everyone.\nWe cannot guarantee species type or quantities.\nTrees are in 7-gallon containers\, range from 6-10′ tall\, and will not be reserved or transported.\n\nAre you ready to show some Big Tree Love? No pre-registration for this TreeStore – just show up on Tuesday! \n\nWe’re looking for a few TreeMasters to help.

SUMMARY:Spring Has Sprung TreeStore
DESCRIPTION:Are you a resident of Charlotte?  Do you need some trees for your yard? Thanks to the generous support of Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation\, we are hosting this TreeStore to clear out our inventory of trees for the season. We expect to give away close to 800 trees. \n\nEach Charlotte household is eligible for up to two free trees.  Limit 2 trees per address.\nTreesCharlotte’s mission is to help the City of Charlotte reach their goal of 50% tree canopy by 2050.  We therefore limit our efforts to expand the canopy within Charlotte’s city limits and limit participation to Charlotte residents only (unfortunately\, we do not serve Matthews\, Mint Hill\, Pineville\, Huntersville\, Davidson\, Cornelius\, other municipalities outside Charlotte\, or Mecklenburg County).\nProof of Charlotte residency (such as a driver’s license\, utility bill\, etc.) must be shown at the event in order to participate.\nA valid email address is required to register.\nYou will complete and sign a Stewardship Pledge Form (mandatory) and declare your pledge to take care of the tree(s) we provide.\nAt the TreeStore\, you will be taught how to properly plant and care for your tree(s).  Tree education is mandatory for everyone.\nWe cannot guarantee species type or quantities and will not know what will be available until the morning of the event.\nTrees are in 7-gallon containers\, range from 6-10′ tall\, and will not be reserved or transported.\n\nTreesCharlotte is a non-profit organization that relies on donations to be able to host events like this.  A suggested donation of $20 is greatly appreciated and would help us give more trees to Charlotte residents. \nTree registration will be open February 20 through March 5. Deadline to register is March 5.  \nPre-registration does not guarantee you trees or tree varieties\, however\, it does get you a sneak peak (via email a few days before the event) of the varieties we hope to offer. \nWe expect to give out close to 800 trees on a first come\, first served basis. Expect long lines as this will be a popular event. \nClick Here to Register for Trees \nThank you to everyone that has signed up\, we now have plenty of TreeMaster help.  Sign-ups for this event are limited to TreeMasters.  Click here to learn more about the TreeMaster program.
