SUMMARY:Final Season Ending Citywide Drive-thru TreeStore
DESCRIPTION:Thank you to the many Charlotteans that have registered to get trees.  Registration is now closed.  We will see you again in late September. \nThis is it. Our final Season End Citywide Drive-thru TreeStore.  We have a limited number of large maturing trees that are in need of new homes. \nWe want to thank our partnership with Duke Energy/Piedmont Natural Gas as well as Lending Tree\, the Charlotte 2020 Host Committee and the 2020 Convention Planners for making this event possible. \nTo ensure the event follows social distancing guidelines\, some details are different from our typical TreeStores\, so read carefully: \nHere’s what you need to know:  \n\nYou must pre-register for trees. Registration opens Sunday\, May 24 and closes at midnight Tuesday\, May 26.  Scroll down to below the list of species for the link.\nEach Charlotte address/household can get up to 3 trees.\nTrees will be given out on a first come\, first served basis.  Please do research ahead of time to know which trees will work best for your yard.  Links are provided below to learn more about the trees. We will not be able to answer any tree related questions at the event.\nThis TreeStore will be drive-thru only to limit personal contact. You will be expected to load your own trees and mulch. Neighbors are encouraged to work together to pick up multiple orders with one vehicle.\nAbout the trees: The trees are in 7-gallon containers\, measure 6-15 feet tall and weigh about 20-25 pounds. The mulch weighs 25 pounds/bag. As you’ll see below\, you have 10 species to choose from. Links are provided to learn more about each species; please do your homework first to ensure you’re putting the right tree in the right place.\nImportant note: TreesCharlotte typically does not distribute trees this late in the spring – newly planted trees fare better when there’s cooler weather ahead. We hope that with your love and care\, they will flourish once planted. But if they don’t\, we’ll be back in the fall with more TreeStores!\nTreesCharlotte will send a follow-up email with planting instructions – including a planting video – watering instructions and specific information about the species you select.\nTreesCharlotte’s mission is to help the City of Charlotte reach its goal of 50% tree canopy by 2050.  We\, therefore\, limit participation to residents within Charlotte city limits.  At this time\, we do not serve Matthews\, Mint Hill\, Pineville\, Huntersville\, Davidson\, Cornelius\, Mecklenburg County or other municipalities outside Charlotte.\n\nTreesCharlotte is a non-profit organization that relies on donations to be able to host events like this.  A suggested donation of $10/tree is greatly appreciated and would help us give more trees to Charlotte residents. \nThe following trees will be given out on a first come\, first served basis (registration link below opens May 24).  \nBe sure to research which tree will work best for your yard.  We will not be able to answer any questions at the event. \n\n \nBlackgum\n\n \nBlackgum – 2 available\n\n\n\n \nPrinceton Elm\n\n \nElm – 12 available\n\n\n\n \nGinkgo\n\n \nGinkgo – 2 available\n\n\n\n \nNellie Stevens Holly\n\n \nHolly – 4 available\n\n\n\n \nAmerican Hornbeam\n\n \nHornbeam – 7 available\n\n\n\n \nNuttall Oak\n\n \nOak\, Nuttall – 1 available\n\n\n\n \nOvercup Oak\n\n \nOak\, Overcup – 16 available\n\n\n\n \nShumard Oak\n\n \nOak\, Shumard – 14 available\n\n\n\n \nSwamp White Oak\n\n \nOak\, Swamp White – 2 available\n\n\n\n \nWillow Oak\n\n \nOak\, Willow – 20 available\n\n\nRegistration has closed. SUMMARY:Huntingtowne Farms TreeStore
DESCRIPTION:Registration has closed.\nHuntingtowne Farms\, are you finally ready for some trees? Thanks to our partnership with LendingTree\, Charlotte 2020 Host Committee and 2020 Convention Planners\, we are excited to bring our TreeStore to Huntingtowne Farms. We will drop off trees directly to your neighborhood on Thursday\, April 16\, for residents to pick up and plant in their own yards! What a great way to add more shade and beauty to your neighborhood. \nIf you’re interested\, here’s what you need to know: \n\nEach household can get up to 3 trees\, with a limit of 2 trees per species.\nYou must pre-register for trees. Registration opens at noon on Friday\, April 10 and closes at midnight on Tuesday\, April 14.\nCost is $10/tree. Each tree comes with a bag of mulch.\nYou will need to pick up your trees at the SouthPark Swim and Tennis Club parking lot\, 2200 Huntingtowne Farms Lane\, on Thursday\, April 16\, between 3-6 p.m. This will be a largely drive-through event to limit personal contact. You will be expected to load your own trees and mulch\, but there will be volunteers available to help if you need assistance. Please have your car prepared to take the trees (trunk ready\, seats down\, plastic/blanket laid out\, etc.) to make the process as quick and social distance-friendly as possible. You will get a reminder email about this pickup event. If you cannot make this window\, please make arrangements with a neighbor to get your trees.\nAbout the trees: The trees are in 7-gallon containers\, measure 6-12 feet tall and weigh about 20-25 pounds. The mulch weighs 25 pounds/bag. As you’ll see in the registration form\, you have 10 species to choose from. Links are provided below to learn more about each species; please do your homework first to ensure you’re putting the right tree in the right place.\nTreesCharlotte will send a follow-up email with planting instructions – including a planting video – watering instructions and specific information about the species you select. Tree planting is not provided\, however\, HFNA can provide a few referral sources should you need them. If you have questions\, please contact Kim Riddle at kimriddle1@gmail.com\n\nYou’ll be able to choose from the following trees when you register (registration link below). Quantities are limited.
