SUMMARY:Rooted & Reading Book Club Social: "Nature's Best Hope"
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a relaxed book club social celebrating nature\, trees\, and the environment . We’ll gather to discuss eco-inspired reads\, share ideas about conservation and community action\, and enjoy good conversation in a welcoming\, laid-back setting. Whether you’re a seasoned environmentalist or just curious about greener living\, come connect with fellow readers who care about the natural world. \n  \nName of the book: Nature’s Best Hope: Doug Tallamy’s Nature’s Best Hope: A New Approach to Conservation That Starts in Your Yard \nSocial Date: March 26th\, 6pm at Petty Thieves Brewing Co. \nClick Here To Register\nQuick Synopsis: Nature’s Best Hope presents a hopeful\, action-oriented approach to conservation\, arguing that reversing biodiversity loss doesn’t only depend on large parks or government policies\, but on everyday people transforming their own yards into wildlife-supporting habitats. Tallamy explains why native plants matter for insects\, birds\, and entire ecosystems\, and gives practical steps for homeowners to replace lawns with native species and create interconnected ecological corridors he calls a “Homegrown National Park.” His message is that ordinary landscapes\, collectively managed\, can help sustain nature and combat environmental decline.

SUMMARY:TreeAmbassodor Training Winter Season 2026
DESCRIPTION:  \nTreeAmbassador Training\n\n\n\nEducation is a cornerstone of TreesCharlotte’s mission\, but our data shows that less than 10% of Charlotte residents are familiar with our organization. With a rapidly developing city\, we need to ensure that residents are inspired to advocate for tree planting and preservation in their communities. We are searching for passionate\, motivated individuals to help TreesCharlotte spread awareness.  TreeAmbassadors are specially trained volunteers representing TreesCharlotte at outreach events\, educational opportunities\, and more!  \nIf this sounds like you and you want to volunteer in this capacity\, please register for our TreeAmbassador Training on February 10th.

SUMMARY:TreeMaster and TreeKeeper Winter Classroom 2026
DESCRIPTION:We will be hosting our TreeMaster and TreeKeeper Winter classroom course on the evening of Tuesday\, January 13th. Anyone is welcome to join in if they are interested in becoming one of our amazing lead volunteers. TreeMaster class 5:30 pm-6:30 pm and TreeKeeper class 6:30 pm-7:30 pm. \n \nFor any TreeMasters who would like to train as a TreeKeeper\, we invite you to join us from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm (directly following the TreeMaster training) for the TreeKeeper classroom training session. \nA TreeMaster is a volunteer who has received training on volunteer management\, proper planting techniques\, and care and maintenance of trees. TreeMasters serve as volunteer leaders at our planting events and TreeAdoptions throughout Charlotte.  They help with event setup\, tree and mulch placement\, volunteer engagement\, and event breakdown. \n TreeKeepers join us at our TreeCare events to help steward previously planted trees by providing pruning\, mulching\, stake removal\, and other general tree care. TreeKeepers may come to an event with volunteers\, or they may join our arborist on a site visit to conduct light pruning.  \nHow do I become a TreeMaster or TreeKeeper? \nAnybody interested should attend this workshop\, featuring the history of TreesCharlotte\, our planting practices\, and a Q&A.  Training suited for all levels of arboriculture knowledge.  Upon completion of the certification course\, graduates will be provided opportunities to put their knowledge into action by serving as volunteer leaders. The tree planting and care season in Charlotte runs from October to early April.  \nTreeMaster Training Planting \nFollowing the training\, graduates will be provided an opportunity to get hands-on experience with tree planting on the morning of Saturday\, January 17th\, at Windsor Park Elementary School. This add-on training session is not required but strongly encouraged. For those who cannot make this planting\, we will have you pair up with a seasoned TreeMaster during your first planting with us to receive additional field training. \nTreeKeeper Field Training \nTreeKeeper classroom graduates will be provided with an opportunity to get hands-on experience with a tree care event on the morning of Friday\, January 16th\, at Long Creek Greenway – Beatties Ford Road.
