SUMMARY:Stewardship Event at Garinger High School
DESCRIPTION:TreesCharlotte is returning to the campus of Garinger High School to do routine maintenance on the trees planted.  Leadership Charlotte volunteers will help with staking and mulching existing trees as well as planting a few new ones. \nWe love our volunteers\, however\, general volunteers are not needed for this event.  Please check the events calendar for other volunteer opportunities.

SUMMARY:Olde Providence Elementary TreeDay Event
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nTreesCharlotte will be planting approximately 270 trees on the campus of Olde Providence Elementary. \nTo ensure a safe and enjoyable event\, we are limiting the number of volunteers to 135 for this TreeDay. Register early as our events “sell out” quickly. \nTree planting events are great for families and everyone is welcome. To ensure accurate active volunteer counts\, please list all participants on the registration form\, along with children’s ages. Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. \nChildren activities will be provided between 9:00 and 10:00 am by our community partner\, NC Wildlife Federation. \nEvents are held rain or shine.  A modest rainfall actually provides ideal planting conditions. \nDeadline to register is Sunday\, April 3.  Click here to register. \nOnce registered\, more detailed information will be emailed to you the week of the event. \nAfter this event please return to this page to see photos of the morning.

SUMMARY:Seedling Preparation event and tool clean up - April 20
DESCRIPTION:Thank you for your interest in volunteering with TreesCharlotte\, however\, we have reached capacity for this event.  Please visit our events calendar later this summer to see additional volunteer opportunities this fall. \nHelp is needed to prepare seedlings to be given away at events around Charlotte. This is a great opportunity for groups or organizations and for anyone needing school community service hours; appropriate for anyone eight years or older. \nVolunteers will soak seedlings in water\, wrap them in newspaper and place them in a bag\, then attach a card to the bag. \nSeedlings are bare root and very messy. Come prepared to get dirty. \nVolunteers will also help TreesCharlotte close out the season with an end of year tool clean up.  The trailer will be emptied of shovels\, rakes and pick axes and a cleanup crew will get them ready for next season.
