SUMMARY:Polo Ridge Elementary and Flat Branch Park TreeDay Event
DESCRIPTION:TreesCharlotte will be planting approximately 220 trees on the Polo Ridge Elementary campus and neighboring Flat Branch Park. \nTo ensure a safe and enjoyable event\, we are limiting the number of volunteers to 150 for this TreeDay. Register early as our events “sell out” quickly. \nTree planting events are great for families and everyone is welcome. To ensure accurate active volunteer counts\, please list all participants on the registration form\, along with children’s ages. Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. \nChildren activities will be provided between 9:00 and 10:00 am by our community partner\, NC Wildlife Federation. \nEvents are held rain or shine.  A modest rainfall actually provides ideal planting conditions. \nDeadline to register is Sunday\, February 28.  Click here to register. \nOnce registered\, more detailed information will be emailed to you the week of the event. \nAfter this event please return to this page to see photos of the morning.

DESCRIPTION:Help is needed to prepare seedlings to be given away at events around Charlotte. This is a great opportunity for groups or organizations and for anyone needing school community service hours; appropriate for anyone eight years or older. \nVolunteers will soak seedlings in water\, wrap them in newspaper and place them in a bag\, then attach a card to the bag. \nSeedlings are bare root and very messy. Come prepared to get dirty. \nSimply RSVP below with your name and number of people in your group. \n
