DESCRIPTION:Whether you’re new to Charlotte or new to TreesCharlotte\, we have a special invitation just for you. Thanks to Crescent Communities\, we are hosting a First-Timers TreeAdoption. This event is for Charlotte residents who’ve never participated in our TreeAdoptions before! If you’re a TreesCharlotte first-timer\, you can take home up to two FREE trees! What a terrific way to get started on what promises to be a wonderful tree journey in the Queen City. \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \nHere’s what you need to know:  \n\nRegistration is required and opens at 10:00 am Monday\, February 20 (button to register will be posted above on Feb. 20) and closes when trees “sell out” or at 12:01 am Thursday\, February 23.  Scroll down to below the list of species we’re offering for the link to register. \nEach City of Charlotte address/household can get up to 2 trees. While the registration form does not limit the total number of trees\, households requesting more than 2 trees will be notified and removed.\nA valid email address is required to register.\nPlease allow for at least 45 minutes to receive your trees as everyone is required to go through a planting demonstration. \nWe are continuing to implement staggered pickup times. This educational event is led by our arborist and takes place at Freedom Park\, which is known for its robust tree canopy and tree biodiversity. All events are open to partnership volunteers as well as community members. We will have a table at the start of the tree walk with some general information about TreesCharlotte as well to provide general information and on the tree species you will be observing. This event is open to partnerships and communities within our Treesilience initiative.  \nTree Walk will begin at the Lilac Road Parking Lot (directly across from 2430 Cumberland Avenue). We encourage you to plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow time to find parking as the event will start promptly at 5:30pm. Please use the exact address above to arrive at the right location within Freedom Park (putting solely “Freedom Park” into your GPS may not land you in the right location). \nComfortable attire and walking shoes are a must. Hat and sunscreen are recommended. Water and light snacks will be provided. Please plan to expect a brisk walk through the park. \nRegister HERE! \n  \n*A minimum of 8 people are required for the event to occur. Registered attendees will receive at least 24 hours notice if the event must be cancelled due to low attendance.

DESCRIPTION:TreesCharlotte is excited to bring our TreeAdoption to Charlotte. We invite Charlotte residents to partake in this amazing event. We’ll have a mix of species\, from small flowering to canopy building to evergreen screening. There’s something for everybody. \nA link to register for trees will be added here on October 6. \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER  \nWe are seeking TreeMasters to help manage the event.  Click here to register to volunteer. \nHere’s what you need to know:  \nRegistration details \n\nRegistration is required and opens at 10:00 am Friday\, October 6 (link will be posted above on 10/6) and closes when trees “sell out” or at 11:59 pm Wednesday\, October 11th .\nEach address can get up to 2 trees. While the registration form does not limit the total number of trees\, households requesting more than 2 trees will be notified and removed.\nAll trees are required to be registered to the homeowner receiving those trees\, with accurate contact information (including first name(s)\, last name(s)\, address\, email address\, and phone number). Correct contact information for each homeowner is required.\nIf you are registering for or picking up trees on behalf of a neighbor or friend\, please provide the homeowner’s correct contact information and bring copy of their registration with you to the event.\nWhile you will be able to pre-select your species\, we cannot guarantee the variety or quantities that will be available on the day of the event. We will\, however\, make all efforts to sub in a comparable tree. \nResale of TreesCharlotte trees is prohibited and may result in being disallowed at future adoptions and TreesCharlotte events.\nPlanting of TreesCharlotte trees for profit is prohibited and may result in being disallowed at future adoptions and TreesCharlotte events.\n\nDay of event details \n\nAll TreeAdoption attendees are required to go through a planting demonstration on the day of the TreeAdoption.\nAllow for at least 45 minutes to receive your trees as everyone is required to go through a planting demonstration. Tree planting training is mandatory.\nAbout the trees: The trees are in up to 7-gallon containers\, measure up to 10 feet tall\, and weigh about 10-15 pounds. The mulch weighs 25 pounds/bag. \nTreesCharlotte will send a follow-up email with event details and planting and care instructions.\n\nTreesCharlotte is a non-profit organization that relies on donations to be able to host events like this.
