DESCRIPTION:Having completed a NeighborWoods Application TreesCharlotte is pleased to partner with the Historic Hoskins Neighborhood to provide trees to their residents. \nWe will conduct a TreeAdoption at Hoskins Avenue Baptist Church on Sat\, October 25th\, for residents to pick up and plant trees in their own yards! What a great way to add more shade and beauty to your neighborhood. \nResidents\, here’s what you need to know: \n\nEach Hoskins household can get up to 3 trees\, with a limit of 2 of the same species per household.\nYou are able to pre-register for the trees. We will also provide an opportunity to get trees if you are unable to register. Registration opens at 10:00 am\, Monday\, October 3rd (link will be shared by Hoskins Leadership) and closes at 11:59 pm\, Thursday\, October 13th.\nEach tree comes with a bag of mulch.\nYou will need to pick up your trees at Hoskins Avenue Baptist Church\, on Sat\, Oct 25th\, between 10-11:00 a.m. If you cannot make this window\, please make arrangements with a neighbor to get your trees. \nAt the TreeAdoption\, you will be taught how to plant and care for your tree(s) properly.  Tree training is mandatory.\nAbout the trees: The trees are in 7-gallon containers\, measure 6-15 feet tall\, and weigh about 20-25 pounds. We invite residents living in zip codes 28216\, 28262\, and 28269 to come on out and get some trees at Back Creek Church.  \nTo ensure the event runs smoothly please read the details below carefully: \nHere’s what you need to know:  \n\nRegistration is required and opens at 10 am Monday\, October 24th (link will be posted above on Oct 24) and closes when we “sell-out” of trees or at 11:59 pm Thursday\, October 27th. \nEach address within zip codes 28216\, 28262\, and 28269 can get up to 2 trees. We invite residents living in zip codes 28217\, 28273\, 28278\, 28208\, and 28214 to come on out and get some trees at TreesCharlotte!  \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \nTo ensure the event runs smoothly please read the details below carefully: \nHere’s what you need to know:  \n\nRegistration is required and opens at 10 am Monday\, February 27th\, and closes when we “sell-out” of trees or at 11:59 pm Thursday\, March 2nd. (button to register will be posted above on Feb. 27)\nEach address within the city of Charlotte zip codes 28217\, 28273\, 28278\, 28208\, and 28214 can get up to 2 trees. While the registration form does not limit the total number of trees\, households requesting more than 2 trees will be notified and removed.\nA valid email address is required to register.\nPlease allow for at least 45 minutes to receive your trees as everyone is required to go through a planting demonstration. \nWe are continuing to implement staggered pickup times. On the registration form\, you will choose a time frame to pick up your trees. \nAt the TreeAdoption\, you will be taught how to plant and care for your tree(s) properly.  Tree training is mandatory.\nAbout the trees: The trees are in 3\, 5\, and 7-gallon containers\, measure upwards of 12 feet tall\, and weigh about 10-15 pounds. The mulch weighs 25 pounds/bag. Links to the species we are offering are provided below.  Please do your homework first to ensure you’re putting the right tree in the right place. Once registered\, selections are final and cannot be changed.\nTreesCharlotte will send a follow-up email with planting instructions – including a planting video and watering instructions.  Tree planting is not provided.\n\nTreesCharlotte is a non-profit organization that relies on donations to host events like this. DESCRIPTION:Help is needed to prepare seedlings to be given away at events around Charlotte. This is a great opportunity for groups or organizations and for anyone needing school community service hours; appropriate for anyone eight years or older. \nVolunteers will soak seedlings in water\, wrap them in newspaper and place them in a bag with information about the tree species. Seedlings are bare root and very messy. DESCRIPTION:Thanks to the support of Morningstar Properties\, TreesCharlotte will be ending its event season with a City-wide TreeAdoption. Everyone who lives within the city limits is able to partake in this amazing event. We’ll have a huge mix of species\, from small flowering to canopy building to evergreen screening.
