DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to go back to our normal event format\, which includes an in-person planting demonstration and tree education\, a core mission of TreesCharlotte!  \nThanks to the generous support of MetLife\, TreesCharlotte is excited to bring our Zip Code TreeAdoption event to the South Charlotte area. We invite residents living in zip codes 28226\,  28270\, and 28277 to come on out and get some trees at Jay M Robinson Middle School.  \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \nTo ensure the event runs smoothly please read the details below carefully:  \nHere’s what you need to know:  \n\nRegistration is required and opens at 10 am Tuesday\, February 22.  (link will be posted above on 2/22) and closes when we “sell-out” of trees or at 11:59 pm Thursday\, February 24. \nEach address within the city of Charlotte zip codes zip codes 28226\, 28270\, and 28277 can get up to 2 trees. While the registration form does not limit the total number of trees\, households requesting more than 2 trees will be notified and removed.\nA valid email address is required to register.\nPlease allow for at least 45 minutes to receive your trees as everyone is required to go through a planting demonstration. \nWe are continuing to implement staggered pickup times. On the registration form\, you will choose a time frame to pick up your trees. \nAt the TreeAdoption\, you will be taught how to properly plant and care for your tree(s).  Tree training is mandatory.\nAbout the trees: The trees are in 3\, 5\, and 7-gallon containers\, measure 6-10 feet tall\, and weigh about 10-15 pounds. The mulch weighs 25 pounds/bag. Links to the species we are offering are provided below.  Please do your homework first to ensure you’re putting the right tree in the right place. Once registered\, selections are final and cannot be changed.\nTreesCharlotte will send a follow-up email with planting instructions – including a planting video and watering instructions.  Tree planting is not provided.\n\nWant a Reminder? DESCRIPTION:Having completed a NeighborWoods Application\, TreesCharlotte is pleased to partner with the Maplecrest neighborhood to plant 53 trees in their common areas!  \nVOLUNTEERS NEEDED! \nWhile TreesCharlotte strives to celebrate\, expand\, and protect the tree canopy in Charlotte\, we also want to protect the health of our supporters\, volunteers\, and partners from risks associated with COVID-19.  We appreciate your continued interest in volunteering with us even in these difficult times. Please read through our new event protocols here before registering to volunteer. \nWe are looking for 30 volunteers to help plant 53 trees in the common areas on the morning of February 26th. Register early as our events “sell-out” quickly. 0 spots remain. (we now have all the TreeMasters we need for this event!) \nTree planting events are great for families and all ages are welcome. To ensure accurate counts and liability forms are signed\, we ask that all participants please register separately. Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. \nVolunteer groups of 10 or more\, please contact events director\, Zack Agerton to determine if there is enough capacity. \nEvents are held rain or shine. Details of the event will be emailed to registered volunteers the week of the event. \nDeadline to register to volunteer is Sunday\, Feb 20.
