DESCRIPTION:While TreesCharlotte strives to celebrate\, expand\, and protect the tree canopy in Charlotte\, we also want to protect the health of our supporters\, volunteers\, and partners from risks associated with COVID-19.  We appreciate your continued interest in volunteering with us even in these difficult times. Please read through our new event protocols here before registering to volunteer. \n \nThanks to the generous support of TIAA and  Trammell Crow Residential (TCR)\, the multifamily development company of Dallas-based Crow Holdings\, TreesCharlotte is excited to partner with Back Creek Church to not only host a Zip Code TreeAdoption to give out trees to residents living in 28213\, 28262\, or 28269 but also to plant approximately 200 trees around their campus. We are looking for 110 volunteers and 8 TreeMasters to help plant trees around the campus on the morning of November 13. Register early as our events “sell-out” quickly.   0 spots remain.  \nTree planting events are great for families and all ages are welcome. To ensure accurate counts and liability forms are signed\, we ask that all participants please register separately. Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. \nVolunteer groups of 10 or more\, please contact events director\, Zack Agerton to determine if there is enough capacity. \nEvents are held rain or shine. Details of the event will be emailed to registered volunteers the week of the event. \nDeadline to register to volunteer is Sunday\, November 7.

DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to go back to our normal event format\, which includes an in-person planting demonstration and tree education\, a core mission of TreesCharlotte!  \nTreesCharlotte\, with the generous support of Trammell Crow Residential (TCR)\, the multifamily development company of Dallas-based Crow Holdings\, is excited to bring our Zip Code TreeAdoption event to the University area. We invite residents living in zip codes 28213\, 28262\, and 28269 to come on out and get some trees at Back Creek Church.  \nREGISTER HERE! \nTo ensure the event runs smoothly please read the details below carefully: \nHere’s what you need to know:  \n\nRegistration is required and opens at 10am Tuesday\, November 9 (link will be posted above on Nov 9) and closes when we “sell-out” of trees or at 11:59pm Thursday\, November 11. \nEach address within zip code 28213\, 28262\, and 28269 can get up to 2 trees. While the registration form does not limit the total number of trees\, households requesting more than 2 trees will be notified and removed.\nProof of residency within 28213\, 28262\, and 28269 (ie: driver’s license\, utility bill\, etc) must be shown at the event.\nA valid email address is required to register.\nPlease allow for at least 45 minutes to receive your trees as everyone is required to go through a planting demonstration. \nWe are continuing to implement staggered pickup times. On the registration form\, you will choose a time frame to pick up your trees. \nAt the TreeAdoption\, you will be taught how to properly plant and care for your tree(s).  Tree training is mandatory.\nAbout the trees: The trees are in 7-gallon containers\, measure 6-10 feet tall\, and weigh about 10-15 pounds. The mulch weighs 25 pounds/bag. Links to the species we are offering are provided below.  Please do your homework first to ensure you’re putting the right tree in the right place. Once registered\, selections are final and cannot be changed.\nTreesCharlotte will send a follow-up email with planting instructions – including a planting video – watering instructions and specific information about the species you select.\n\nTreesCharlotte is a non-profit organization that relies on donations to be able to host events like this. Donations are greatly appreciated and help us give more trees to Charlotte residents. If interested please click HERE.  \nThe trees below will be available. All species are subject to change. Quantities are limited.
