DESCRIPTION:Did you miss the Arbor Week Kick-off  City-wide TreeStore this past Saturday?  No problem. We have a few trees left\, so we’ve decided to hold a “Made in the Shade” TreeStore this Thursday\, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. All of our available trees promise to provide beautiful\, cool shade as they mature! Here’s what we have on our lot here at TreesCharlotte headquarters: \nWillow Oak – 12 qty\nWinged Elm – 1 qty\nShumard Oak – 20 qty\nChestnut Oak – 2 qty\nAmerican Beech – 6 qty\nBlack Gum – 1 qty\nBosque Elm – 1 qty\nBrandywine Red Maple – 20 qty\nEverclear Elm – 5 qty\nLeyland Cypress – 1 qty\nLoblolly Pine – 17 qty\nLong Leaf Pine – 33 qty\nSwamp White Oak – 15 qty\nSweetbay Magnolia – 5 qty\nWater Oak – 8 qty\nYellowwood – 1 qty\nEach Charlotte household is eligible for up to two free trees.  Proof of Charlotte residency (such as a driver’s license\, utility bill\, etc.) as well as a valid email address must be provided in order to participate.  No pre-registration is required.  One of the missions of TreesCharlotte is to help the City of Charlotte and City Council reach their goal of 50% tree canopy by 2050.  We therefore limit our efforts to expand the canopy within city limits and limit participation to Charlotte residents. \nAt the TreeStore\, you will be trained on how to properly plant and care for your tree(s).  Tree training is mandatory.  You will then be asked to complete and sign a Stewardship Pledge Form with your home and email address (mandatory) and declare your pledge to take care of the tree(s) we provide. \nTrees are 6-10′ tall in 7-gallon containers\, and will not be reserved or transported. \nThis is a first come\, first served event as quantities are limited.

DESCRIPTION:Here’s a triple treat: Running\, craft beer and TreesCharlotte! Legion Brewing and the Elizabeth 8k are hosting a fundraiser just for TreesCharlotte. For every pint purchased from the brewery’s Adventure Tap\, $1 goes to TreesCharlotte. \nWhile the Adventure Tap will benefit TreesCharlotte for the entire month of March (so go to Legion all month and pick the beer behind the Adventure Tap label!)\, tonight we’ll blow it out with drawings for cool swag from TreesCharlotte\, Elizabeth 8K and Legion. Throughout the evening\, we’ll have a full agenda if you want to do more than sip great beer: The Legiondary Run Club takes off for a 4.4-mile run around Plaza Midwood (burn those beer carbs) at 6:30 p.m. and Music Bingo kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Plus\, there just might be a Rooty sighting! \nIn addition\, you’ll be able to register for the Elizabeth 8K\, a beautiful race on March 24 that winds through historic Elizabeth. A big thank you to the Elizabeth 8K for picking TreesCharlotte as a beneficiary.
