SUMMARY:University City Zip Code TreeStore 2020 - 28213\, 28262\, 28269
DESCRIPTION:University City\, are you ready for some trees?! Thanks to our partnership with LendingTree\, Charlotte 2020 Host Committee and 2020 Convention Planners\, we are excited to bring our TreeStore to University City.  In an effort to get more trees into less treed areas\, we invite residents who live in the 28213\, 28262\, or 28269 zip codes to this Zip Code TreeStore! If you’re a resident of any of these zip codes\, pre-register and help make University City one of the best-canopy’d communities in the Queen City. \nHere’s what you need to know:  \n\nEach address within zip code 28213\, 28262\, or 28269 is eligible for up to two free trees.  Limit 2 trees per address.\nProof of zip code residency (such as a driver’s license\, utility bill\, etc.) must be shown at the event in order to participate.\nA valid email address is required to register.\nYou will sign a Stewardship Pledge Form (mandatory) and declare your pledge to take care of the tree(s) we provide.\nAt the TreeStore\, you will be taught how to properly plant and care for your tree(s).  Tree training is mandatory.\nWe cannot guarantee species type or quantities and will not know what will be available until the morning of the event.\nTrees are in 7-gallon containers\, range from 6-10′ tall\, and will not be reserved or transported.\n\nTreesCharlotte is a non-profit organization that relies on donations to be able to host events like this.  A suggested donation of $20 is greatly appreciated and would help us give more trees to Charlotte residents. \nRegistration is required and will be open February 4 – 18. Deadline to register is midnight\, February 18.  \nRegister here! \nRegistration does not guarantee you trees or tree varieties\, however\, it does get you a sneak peek (via email a few days before the event) of the varieties we hope to offer. \nWe expect to give out close to 300 trees on a first come\, first served basis. Expect long lines as this will be a popular event. \nThank you to all our TreeMasters that have registered\, we now have enough help and are only seeking a few volunteers to help direct traffic across the campus and distribute and load trees and mulch into participants’ cars.  Register to volunteer below. Deadline to register to volunteer is Feb. 16.

SUMMARY:Welwyn NeighborWoods
DESCRIPTION:Having completed a NeighborWoods Application and having been accepted\, TreesCharlotte is pleased to partner with the Welwyn neighborhood to plant 20 trees in their common areas and along the Greenway. \nTo ensure a safe and enjoyable event\, we are limiting the number of volunteers to 15 to help plant trees. Register early as our events “sell out” quickly.  5 spots remaining. \nVolunteer groups of 10 or more\, please contact events director\, Zack Agerton to determine if there is enough capacity. \nTree planting events are great for families and everyone is welcome. To ensure accurate active volunteer counts\, please list all participants on the registration form\, along with children’s ages. Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.  Events are held rain or shine.  A modest rainfall actually provides ideal planting conditions. \nDeadline to register to volunteer is Tuesday\, February 18. \nEvents are held rain or shine.  A modest rainfall actually provides ideal planting conditions.
