SUMMARY:Newell Elementary TreeDay
DESCRIPTION:Thanks to the generous support of Atrium Health\, TreesCharlotte will be planting approximately 150 trees on the Newell Elementary School campus with volunteers from Atrium Health. \nTo ensure a safe and enjoyable event\, we are limiting the number of volunteers to 50 for this TreeDay. Register early as our events “sell out” quickly.  Only 25 spots remain.   \nVolunteer groups of 10 or more\, please contact events director\, Heike Biller. \nTree planting events are great for families and everyone is welcome. To ensure accurate active volunteer counts\, please list all participants on the registration form\, along with children’s ages. Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. \nChildren activities will be provided between 9:00 and 10:00am by our community partner\, NC Wildlife Federation. \nTreesCharlotte is exited to partner with CupLux Coffee to provide our volunteers with delicious\, hand crafted coffee at our events. \nEvents are held rain or shine.  A modest rainfall actually provides ideal planting conditions. \nDeadline to register is Sunday\, February 24. \nOnce registered\, more detailed information will be emailed to you the week of the event.

DESCRIPTION:University City\, are you ready for trees\, trees and more trees? Thanks to the generous support of Atrium Health\, we invite residents who live in the 28213\, 28262 and 28269 zip codes to our Zip Code TreeStore! This thriving corner of the city is a quickly developing area\, which makes it the perfect spot for new trees. If you’re a resident of either zip code\, pre-register today and help make the University City one of the best-canopy’d communities in the Queen City. We plan to give out 200 trees on a first come first served basis. \n\nEach address within zip code 28213\, 28262 and 28269 is eligible for up to two free trees.  Limit 2 trees per address.\nProof of Charlotte residency (such as a driver’s license\, utility bill\, etc.) must be shown at the event in order to participate.\nA valid email address is required to register.\nYou will complete and sign a Stewardship Pledge Form (mandatory) and declare your pledge to take care of the tree(s) we provide.\nAt the TreeStore\, you will be taught how to properly plant and care for your tree(s).  Tree training is mandatory.\nWe cannot guarantee species type or quantities and will not know what will be available until the morning of the event.\nTrees are in 7-gallon containers\, range from 6-10′ tall\, and will not be reserved or transported.\n\nTreesCharlotte is a non-profit organization that relies on donations to be able to host events like this.  A suggested donation of $20 is greatly appreciated and would help us give more trees to Charlotte residents. \nPre-registration is encouraged and will close on Tuesday at midnight.  \nPre-registration does not guarantee you trees or tree varieties\, however\, it does get you a sneak peak (via email a few days before the event) of the varieties we hope to offer. \nWe expect to give out close to 200 trees on a first come\, first served basis.  \nClick Here to Register for Trees\nVolunteers for this event are limited to TreeMasters.  Click here to learn more about the TreeMaster program\,
