#133 White Oak (Quercus alba)

This beautiful oak stands almost in the middle of the Ribbonwalk Nature Preserve. The park property was purchased in 1987 by Mecklenburg County, and was named after a woodland garden owned by Queen Charlotte's mother-in-law. This oak stands in a clearing, likely in a spot that was close to an old homestead.
