Signup For Planting Events

Many TreesCharlotte planting events are special, closed engagements for specific groups, and these events are not open to the broader community. However, there are also many plantings that are open events for the general public, and we welcome your participation.

All You Need To Know for Planting Events

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for one of our tree planting events! Below is some general information that you will want to know before you come. We are grateful for your help and support. Volunteers are what make our events fun and successful.

WHERE: We plant trees in communities all around Charlotte.

WHEN: TreeDay events are usually held on Saturday mornings from 9:00am to 11:30am.

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING: Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves and wear long sleeve shirts, long pants, and closed toed shoes that are appropriate for digging. Keep in mind you will get dirty and the day may be chilly and wet. All tools (shovels and pick axes) needed to plant trees, water and snacks will be provided.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Tree planting events are held rain or shine. A modest rainfall actually provides ideal planting conditions. Upon checking in at the volunteer table, you will be asked to sign a liability waiver. You will then be assigned to a TreeMaster and a planting zone. Following opening remarks, your TreeMaster will provide training on how to properly plant and care for trees. TreeMasters will be with your group throughout the event to guide you on which trees to plant in which locations. Restrooms are made available. PETS: We love pets, but for their safety and the safety of others, please leave them at home when you are volunteering at tree events.

Thank you for helping expand our precious tree canopy & for making our community a better place! We are grateful for your support and are counting on your help!
