Fun for Many, Benefits for All!
The NeighborWoods TreeStores are large-scale events involving volunteers from both within and outside the neighborhood. Usually scheduled for Saturday mornings, NeighborWoods TreeStore events are held in single-family neighborhoods, on school and housing campuses, and in parks. After residents choose from a variety of trees, TreesCharlotte delivers the trees to a central location, and coordinates volunteers and TreeMasters to assist throughout the morning. Residents go through a tree planting and care training session and are asked to sign a stewardship pledge form.
Host a NeighborWoods Tree Planting: 7 Steps to Success
TreesCharlotte wants to work with neighborhoods and communities that show a strong interest in a successful planting project, as well as a commitment to ongoing stewardship for new and existing trees. We try to work in areas where there is sufficient interest to plant at least 100 trees. In some cases, TreesCharlotte partners with the City of Charlotte to plant street trees in conjunction with the volunteer trees planted for a NeighborWoods event.
