What better way to celebrate National Arbor Day than to plant more trees to help build our canopy? That was the motivation for several organized events at area schools.

Arbor Day is observed each year in North Carolina on the first Friday following March 15th, so TreesCharlotte was excited to be a part of this special event on March 20th. These plantings are a reflection of Charlotte’s commitment to its nationally-recognized tree canopy, which was named by AmericanForests.org as one of the Top 10 Urban Forests in America.

This gallery from the Charlotte Observer provides a glimpse of the special day.
